Three years after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, PICO Louisiana Interfaith Together (LIFT), PICO's statewide network of federations and congregations in Louisiana, has learned much from the aftermath of those storms. In the face of Hurricane Gustav, staff, clergy and community leaders have phone lists and plans to communicate during and after the evacuations.  Beginning on Monday, September 1, 2008 PICO LIFT is providing a daily open conference line for community leaders, clergy and staff to communicate with one another. In addition, PICO Louisiana has set up a text message campaign to assist in communicating with families who have evacuated, and also to let those outside the region know what they can do to assist.
