Louisiana Residents Hold Gubernatorial Forum
BISCO (Bayou Interfaith Shared Community Organizing), Congregations Organizing People for Equality (COPE), Louisiana Interfaith Together (LIFT), Working Interfaith Network (WIN)

Four days before Louisiana elected its first female Governor, 700 Louisianans from Louisiana Interfaith Together (LIFT) held a candidate's forum to educate voters and gubernatorial candidates about the needs of its 64,000 members. They brought with them a Community Platform signed by 15,000 supportive residents of the State of Louisiana. Candidate Jindal had sent his regrets prior to the meeting, but Lt. Governor Blanco (who was later elected) sent a State Senator to represent her. LIFT leaders are now gearing up for a day-long retreat in February with U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA), Governor-elect Blanco and Lt. Governor Landrieu to help plan the future of the State of Louisiana.

As of June 27, 2007, All Congregations Together (ACT) is no longer affiliated with PICO.
