PICO's newest project, Community Voice-LA won community policing strategies in East and South Los Angeles. Steps to increase security include bike patrols, dedicated abatement officers to close drug houses and an "alcohol impact area" (there are 26 locations selling liquor in a 6 block area) where liquor sales are restricted to certain times of the day and individual beers cannot be sold.
