Birmingham Area Interfaith Sponsoring Committee (BAISC) organized a mayoral forum September 28 that was vastly different from more than a dozen earlier forums in the race. The candidates spent more time listening and less time speaking because it was designed to communicate the voters concerns. Residents in attendance at the Sixth Avenue Baptist Church spoke to the six candidates about a variety of issues including schools, Community Development Block Grants, and poverty.
