Kansas City leaders pledge $5 million for home repairs

As part of its effort to restructure housing policy Kansas City Church Community Organization (CCO) won commitments from Mayor Kay Barnes and City Manager Wayne Cauthen to help create a $5 million home repair fund. CCO has pressed the city to make its housing programs more efficient and accessible and to place a greater emphasis on preserving existing housing stock in the city. CCO pledged to help raise $2 million in private funds to support the home repair initiative.
