National Campaign to Stop Preventable Foreclosures
PICO is working with congregations across the United States to press the Treasury Department, Federal Reserve, Congress and Lenders to stop preventable foreclosures and get sound, affordable credit flowing again into our communities.
Faith Groups Launch Campaign to Hold Bank of America Accountable
On Tuesday, January 12, a delegation of clergy and community leaders from PICO and National People's Action, together with labor leaders from SEIU, met with executives from Bank of America in Antioch, California to demand that they act more swiftly and aggressively to keep families in their homes, end predatory lending, and invest in our communities. An "assembly of witnesses" from organizations representing millions of people around the country witnessed the negotiation session, while hundreds of community residents from across the San Francisco Bay Area gathered next door to pray, give testimony and hear a report back from the negotiating team.
